Welcome Home to the Church @ 434! We are in the second week of a series called The Thought Tamer. We are building it on the very Biblical idea that we can have a life made better by better thoughts. This is not a series on the power of positive thinking, this is a series on the power that is unleashed when we think in Godly ways! Last week we entered The Brain Cage and found that true life change comes as we allow Jesus to renew our minds. As promised, each week we are going to share a tool that you can use to tame your thoughts. The tool for the week is The Picky Filter. You have one, now it may not be functioning as intended, but we all have one. In this study we will find how it works and what we need to do to make sure it is working. This is an important tool in the art of taming our thoughts and if we can – we have a better life. So get ready and let’s turn on The Picky Filter!

We often focus on our desired outcomes: lose weight, pray more, be a better person. But what if we’re starting in the wrong place? This powerful message reveals that true, lasting change begins with one fundamental question: “Who do you wish to become?” Learn how to shift from outcome-driven efforts that lead to burnout to identity-driven systems that create real transformation. Your habits are simply embodying your identity—it’s time to decide who you are in Christ and live it out.

The stuff that goes on in our head is wilder than a three ring circus and more dangerous than being locked in a cage with a wild animal.
The reality is, even though we often don’t realize and remember it is that God loves us so much He does not want our lives to be defined by stinking thinking – He made our brains – He can retrain our brains – and He is the Thought Tamer. Today, get ready to step into The Brain Cage

That gap between the results you want and the slow progress you’re actually making? We call that the “Valley of Discouragement,” and it’s where “stinking thinking” thrives. This session introduces a transformational model to help you cross that valley.
Instead of being defined by your goals, learn to fall in love with the systems that build your character and faith. By understanding the “Three Rings of Crazy” (Identity, Process, Outcomes), you can learn to tame your thoughts, find joy in the journey, and experience the exponential growth God has for you.

Today is the final installment in our series “Shades” – Together we have made a lot of discoveries and have been challenged to rethink HOW we see things in our world. We even got a bonus session last where we talked about the Greatest Homecoming. Today we go to a very familiar and often quoted verse. This verse is often quoted in times of struggle, but let’s unpack it to really understand how it can transform our hopelessness into hopefulness. What you are getting ready to see, yes – really see is that the verse that gives us the prescription of how to view the world because it helps us understand how God sees it
