We are looking at seven signs that Jesus did that reveal so much about Him and give us the freedom to follow Him with passion and confidence. We have seen Jesus the Wedding Crasher – Jesus the Choreographer- Jesus as the Rule Buster –Jesus as The Maverick– and today – we see Jesus as the Chopped Champion…..all are Phenomenal. In case you don’t know, Chopped is a reality program on the Food Network where chefs must prepare dinner with the surprise items they are given in a basket. So get ready to step into a pressure packed situation and see how three chefs attempt to handle the unexpected. Of course, there is and always will be only ONE Chopped Champion.

Today we continue our series called The Phenomenal as we continue to look at the book of John. Last time we saw Jesus as The Rule Buster, this week we dig deeper into the very same passage of Scripture and see Jesus as The Maverick. The religious leaders are losing their mind over mat-carrying mayhem. Instead of celebrating the miracle, they stumble over holy day rules and end up plotting to take Jesus down. The miraculous healing, the rule breaking, and a theological showdown unfolds and we find out some essential lessons each of us need to learn if we are going to live Phenomenal lives.

Picture this – a poolside party where everyone is waiting for a miracle. This includes Mr. Can’t Get Wet, who has been stuck by the pool for a long, long, time. Then Jesus enters the scene and skips the waterworks, gets straight to the point, and breaks the rules and reminds us of what is really important and how He works. Apparently Jesus is more interested in us walking than swimming. The Phenomenal series continues this week as we do a deep dive into the pool and study John 5:1-10.

There is a royal official in a full panic because he has a child who is seriously ill. In an act of desperation, he tracks down Jesus without making an appointment. Yet Jesus does not make a house call, or at least not in person. What Jesus does in that moment is nothing short of phenomenal. That is the title of this series, Phenomenal. We are exploring the book of John looking at 7 distinct miracles that Jesus did that point us to something that we all need to know about Him. In an earlier study we saw Him as The Wedding Crasher and today we will see Him as The Choreographer. Get ready for some more good news and get ready to take a deeper walk as we get to know Jesus better. He is Phenomenal!
