We are called to grind. As we do we find that most of what we do goes unnoticed and even unappreciated. We grind because it is the call of Jesus. Today, we are reminded that what feels lost to the world may be sacred to God. Every big God-sized future is built on small, faithful decisions no one celebrates.

Today we begin a new year with a new series called – The Grind in the Glory. As we begin, we go back into the pages of the Old Testament and take some time to focus on recognizing and appreciating the grind of daily life, understanding that it is essential for spiritual growth and preparation for God’s glory. Whoever you are, you have your greatest days ever waiting in front of you. But you can’t get there without the grind and by the way – the grind is glorious. Get ready to be stretched, challenged, and changed in this new year.

It is the Sunday before Christmas. Our Christmas Shoppe this morning is The Candy Shoppe. There’s something magical about a candy shop at Christmas. The colors. The smells. The joy. Candy doesn’t solve life’s problems—but it reminds us that life is meant to be sweet. Christmas is far more than ornaments and decorations, it is about how we express our own love for Jesus as we celebrate His birth. The characteristics of God’s love are like the ingredients found in the best of candy and so today, in our visit to The Candy Shoppe we find the true meaning of Christmas all over again.
