Picky Filter – The Thought Tamer (Session Two)

Picky Filter – The Thought Tamer (Session Two)

Welcome Home to the Church @ 434! We are in the second week of a series called The Thought Tamer. We are building it on the very Biblical idea that we can have a life made better by better thoughts. This is not a series on the power of positive thinking, this is a series on the power that is unleashed when we think in Godly ways! Last week we entered The Brain Cage and found that true life change comes as we allow Jesus to renew our minds. As promised, each week we are going to share a tool that you can use to tame your thoughts. The tool for the week is The Picky Filter. You have one, now it may not be functioning as intended, but we all have one. In this study we will find how it works and what we need to do to make sure it is working. This is an important tool in the art of taming our thoughts and if we can – we have a better life. So get ready and let’s turn on The Picky Filter!

The Brain Cage – The Thought Tamer (Session One)

The Brain Cage – The Thought Tamer (Session One)

The stuff that goes on in our head is wilder than a three ring circus and more dangerous than being locked in a cage with a wild animal.

The reality is, even though we often don’t realize and remember it is that God loves us so much He does not want our lives to be defined by stinking thinking – He made our brains – He can retrain our brains – and He is the Thought Tamer. Today, get ready to step into The Brain Cage

Prescription Lenses – Shades (Session Four)

Prescription Lenses – Shades (Session Four)

Today is the final installment in our series “Shades” – Together we have made a lot of discoveries and have been challenged to rethink HOW we see things in our world. We even got a bonus session last where we talked about the Greatest Homecoming. Today we go to a very familiar and often quoted verse. This verse is often quoted in times of struggle, but let’s unpack it to really understand how it can transform our hopelessness into hopefulness. What you are getting ready to see, yes – really see is that the verse that gives us the prescription of how to view the world because it helps us understand how God sees it

From heartfelt personal stories of faith in the face of illness to a vivid exploration of 1 Thessalonians 4, prepare to witness Jesus Christ as the undisputed ‘Commander of the Invasion.’ Hear how His single shout will trigger a cosmic event, raising the dead and transforming the living in a ‘twinkling of an eye,’ a triumphant ‘conquest of the invader’ over a world that desperately needs hope. This isn’t just a prophecy; it’s a promise and an urgent invitation. Will you be ready when He comes?

Dark Lenses – Shades (Session Three)

Dark Lenses – Shades (Session Three)

Today we pick back up with our series called Shades. After a week off we want to take a quick review. In Cracked Lenses we saw how we must move from a life of regret to a life of redemption. In Foggy Lenses we discovered that our lives don’t have to be defined by anxiety and worry but instead can be lives of assurance. Today, we find there is still another type of lens that we often view life through. It is something that everyone battles and is very real. Dark Lenses…these are the types of lenses that keep us fixated on the circumstantial and blinded from the spiritual. These lenses have to be changed and with His help they can! Get ready, it will be fun!
