Welcome to the third installment of “The Jesus Times.” Today, we delve into a mind-bending moment in Scripture often referred to as the Transfiguration. In this 3rd delivery, we witness Jesus revealing His divine glory before His disciples—a scene that feels ripped straight from an X-Files episode! Why the X-Files? Well in cultural understanding the X-Files was a television show built around a real world scenario of cases, too mysterious to comprehend, and cases that seemed to have no clear answer in the world of law enforcement becoming cases labeled with an X. This passage of scripture has been looked at, studied, and debated for years, but today you will discover why it matters to you! It can only happen here in The Jesus Times.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever – Hebrews 13:8
Today we begin a brand new series, The Jesus Times is a series about Jesus. That should be obvious from the title, but it is built upon the idea expressed in Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
What that tells us, and this is good news, is that the Jesus we discover in the pages of Scripture is the same Jesus who calls us and loves us today, and that is never going to change. Every snapshot we get in the life and times of Jesus then give us a glimpse of the past, which impacts our present, and defines our future. Today we take our first look at the life and times of Jesus with A Soggy Savior!

Ready for another ripple? This series is giving each of us a chance to examine our lives and the ripple effect of what we believe, what we say, what we think, and what we do. Most have come to grips with the reality that there is a ripple effect in everything. Today you are invited to live life with your eyes wide open and decide exactly what kind of life you will live. That is exciting, to be sure, but at the same time carries an incredible responsibility…are you ready to ripple?
