With Jeff feeling under the weather (not COVID), Glenn Rogers is joining us to teach us why a manger, using Luke 2 and Philippians 2 as our passages.
In Christmas Stories we are telling the stories of Christmas. Sure, we are all familiar with the ‘classic’ Christmas stories of the Bible. But we are opening them up again and revisiting what we can learn from them, how we can apply their lessons to our lives today, even beyond December. Last week we looked at the story of Mary, and how God had called her — and calls each of us — to a life of courage, of faith, and surrender to God’s will. This study moves us out into an open field where a group of shepherds heard some news that they just couldn’t miss.
You know the Christmas story. You have heard it before and you are about to hear it again. But as we begin this series called – Christmas Stories, have you ever wondered why God orchestrate the Christmas event like he did? He mixed together Mary and Joseph and the angel and the star and the wise men and the shepherds with their flocks and the heavenly host … why did God do it exactly that way? The answer is easy – He did it for you. And if that is true (and it is by the way) then perhaps we need to wrap our hearts and heads around the story of Christmas in a fresh and invigorating way. This is your chance.
Our series, The End of the World as we Know it – ends with this study. We dive into one more big topic and one that to many is controversial. We open the book of Revelation to reveal the only true Judge there is – Jesus Christ. Yes, the last book in the Bible talks about the final judgement and for some, this is terrifying. As we look at the ultimate form of judgment, for Christians and non-Christian, we discover that God’s judgment is perfect. And when we understand His judgment in heaven, we discover how to get the most out of life on earth.
