The Jesus Times is a series about Jesus. That should be obvious from the title, but it is built upon the idea expressed in Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
What that verse tells us, and this is good news, is that the Jesus we discover in the pages of Scripture is the same Jesus who calls us and loves us today, and that is never going to change. Every snapshot we get in the life and times of Jesus then give us a glimpse of the past, which impacts our present, and defines our future. And that is really good news! So this series is a brief look into the life and times of Jesus!

Today we begin a brand new series, The Jesus Times is a series about Jesus. That should be obvious from the title, but it is built upon the idea expressed in Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

We have arrived at the end of the Ripple Effect series. Along the way we have been challenged to create ripples, that can become waves, that can change the landscape. We have unleashed ripples of passion, humility, generosity, and gratitude. Today we prepare to unleash the final ripple. You need to be warned, this ripple might be the toughest because well, the final ripple to release is the ripple of Courage. So get ready for this morning, you need to be brave and get ready to come face to face with the ripple that will either allow you to be a person who builds things up or is constantly torching everything around you. It takes courage – that is the final ripple.

Ready for another ripple? This series is giving each of us a chance to examine our lives and the ripple effect of what we believe, what we say, what we think, and what we do. Most have come to grips with the reality that there is a ripple effect in everything. Since we never really know what that ripple effect might be, we must learn to intentionally start ripples knowing that God can turn them into waves that will change the shoreline of the world we live in. Today you are invited to live life with your eyes wide open and decide exactly what kind of life you will live. That is exciting, to be sure, but at the same time carries an incredible responsibility…are you ready to ripple?

Everything we do makes a difference and has an impact. We don’t always see it, but the ripple effect of our choices, our decision, and our reactions begin a series of events that become part of the legacy of our lives. Last week we started exploring some ripples that we all need to be aware of. Today, we explore Ripple Two and find that in a simple story, Jesus shows a startling contrast that people still struggle with today. If we could make one change – that change could start a ripple effect that creates a wave, that changes the shoreline of the world.
